The Triangle Residents Association has been working with interested parties to ensure that the Rec. remains a welcoming park for all residents and visitors. For example we are currently helping the Triangle Garden, the council and a BMX bikers group to find a location for the bikers to build some ramps.
Another area of activity for the Triangle Resident's Association has been the refurbishment of the bridge
leading from Grove Road into the Rec. over the river Hiz.
The following is a email from Groundworks explaining the current plans and that we, as an organisation,
have until the end of February to comment on their plans.
Following our site meeting [with the Resident's Association], we have met with our architect and fed back your ideas.
Please find attached a copy of his sketch of how the new design for the railings will look and the photograph of the
current view on which it is based.
I will bring larger copies of this plan and more detailed information with me to the Garden on 27/2. Following this
we'll go back to the contractor to find out what impact the new design (and the time passing) will have on the cost.
In the meantime I thought you'd like to see what we've got so far. The 'pedestrian-only' bridge railings will be 1m high; the 'cycling/everything else bridge' will have the same but with an 'open' rail extension to meet the 1.4m height requirement for cycleway bridges. The railing uprights proposed here are 12.5 diametre solid rods.
Let me know if you have any feedback before 27/2.
